1. Licence grant and scope
Grand Co Ltd, the operator identified in our Legal Notice, grants you a limited, non-exclusive licence to install and run an official ADL Messenger Windows binary on devices you lawfully control for personal or internal organizational communication, subject to the applicable terms. The app is licensed, not sold. This does not grant source code, reseller rights, a right to run a replacement service, or rights in ADL branding.
The hosted service is governed by the Terms of Service. The Privacy Policy describes data handling. You must meet the eligibility and any parental-authorization requirements in the terms.
2. Restrictions and lawful exceptions
- Do not copy/rehost the proprietary website or app as your own product, sell or sublicense the proprietary app, or distribute modified binaries without written permission. Share the official download link instead.
- Do not remove copyright, trademark or licence notices or imply affiliation with Asia Design Lab or Microsoft.
- Do not use the app to gain unauthorized access, bypass account protections, disrupt the service, automate abuse or violate the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Do not reverse engineer or otherwise extract proprietary source except to the extent applicable law permits despite this restriction, or an applicable third-party licence grants that right. Rights such as lawful interoperability, security research exceptions and mandatory software rights are not contracted away.
3. Third-party components
The app incorporates third-party components, including Electron, Node.js and other dependencies, which remain governed by their own licences and notices. Their licence terms control their respective components where they conflict with this proprietary licence. We do not claim exclusive ownership of open-source code or revoke rights granted by its licence.
Technical ability to inspect or extract bundled JavaScript does not by itself grant a licence to duplicate our proprietary app or branding. Conversely, this licence does not promise that reverse engineering is technically impossible.
4. Updates, beta risks and termination
The current download is an unsigned beta. Save important data separately, inspect release notes and obtain updates from official ADL download channels. Older versions may lack security or compatibility fixes. We may require an update to connect where reasonably necessary for security or compatibility, subject to mandatory law and any required notice.
The licence ends if you materially breach it and fail to remedy a remediable breach after reasonable notice where required, or immediately where law permits urgent termination for serious abuse. You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time. This does not erase server data; use the privacy-request route.
5. Warranties, liability and disputes
The beta disclaimers and liability provisions in sections 9–10 of the Terms of Service apply to the software only to the extent lawful. In particular, no clause removes mandatory consumer remedies, non-excludable liability, data-protection compensation or rights under applicable third-party licences. The business/US cap is not a blanket cap on protected European consumer claims.
There is no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver. The governing-law and consumer-court protections in section 12 of the terms apply. Questions or permission requests: hello@asiadesignlab.com.
